(For NRD & NRCS) Information for site setup
Site Setup Download this setup guide.  It has tips on how to pick a site, setup for the judges and other useful information.
Fact Sheet You need 1 fact sheet for each site/pit (4 total).  The soil scientist will complete the form and before judging begins, the judge will need to read the sheet, word for word, informing the students of the "givens" of each site.
Contest Rules Download the rules sheet and follow them for your contest.  New rules include no use of electronic equipment including cell phones, and no sharp objects.  Immediate disqualification from the entire contest if students do not follow the rules.  Also note that judging time has increased from 15 minutes to 20 minutes to accommodate the additional materials that need to be judged.
Land Capability Chart Area 1
Land Capability Chart Area 2
Land Capability Chart Area 3
You will need to supply copies of the Capability Chart (for your area) to the students.  These can be downloaded by clicking on your areas contest location on the Land Judging Index page and then downloading the link.
Score Cards (example) Score cards will be sent to each NRD regional coordinator.  Some instructors that help in setup may want the cards to fill out for their contest, it is up to each NRD on their procedure. However, all cards will be sent to the sponsoring NRD.  Extra cards will be included.  The number of cards will be based on last years attendance so if you anticipate an increase, contact the NARD immediately.
Scoring Sheet
(currently unavailable)
This link will allow you to download a version of an excel spreadsheet which can help you keep score of your contest.  We ask you use this program so then you can e-mail your scores to the NARD so they can be posted after each contest.  Send a copy of the results to Kody Schrader
Take Pictures Be sure to take pictures of your area contests.  Send your pictures along with any captions to be posted on both the website, and any possible brochures for the future. Send pictures as .jpg to Kody Schrader
