NARD is excited to announce that we have partnered with NeDNR to organize a two-part Groundwater Model Training that will be led by Dr. Sorab Panday. The following is a brief outline of the two-part training.  Please register using the attached registration form.

Part 1: Basic Modeling Overview – Was hosted in Lincoln on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Part 2: More In-depth Modeling Instruction - this will be a 2 ½  day training, hosted at Embassy Suites in Lincoln beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, and concluding the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 26. This will be an in-person only training. The objective of this 2 ½ day training is to provide a basic capability for manipulating a groundwater model and reviewing the results. The intended audiences are hydrogeologists and groundwater modelers at all levels of expertise who want to review models and make small changes and run/process results to evaluate impact of changes.

Most of the presenters’ time and travel expenses for this training will be covered through an existing NeDNR contract. Attendees may be responsible for a share of the presenter’s travel expenses, as well as any direct costs for meeting space, meals, or materials provided with the training – these costs will be divided equally and billed back at cost to participating districts following the training. Travel accommodations will be the responsibility of attendees. 

A block of rooms are reserved at the Embassy Suites in Lncoln at a single occupancy rate of $107(+tax and fees).  Reservations can be made by directly contacting the hotel at (402)474-1111 and referencing the NRD Training - all reservations must be made by January 3rd.

Registration will be open through Monday, Jan. 8 and can be completed now using the attached form.  Cancelations after Jan. 15 will not be exempt from training charges.  

Space is limited and Part 2 will be open to NRD and NeDNR staff - additional registrations may be available to partners as space allows.
