The Lower Platte North NRD is accepting resumes for General Manager.
This full-­‐time position is the chief executive and supervising officer for the NRD that is a leader in groundwater management, flood control and a host of other conservation programs. The GM works for a 19 member Board of Directors from parts of seven counties in east-­‐central Nebraska developing and carrying out natural resources public policies, programs, projects and regulations.  Projects and programs include working with state and federal agencies, local governments, and landowners, while overseeing a professional and technical staff.
The preferred candidate would have a B.S. in Natural Sciences, Public Administration or Civil Engineering, and ten years experience in water resources, project management, public administration, supervisory work, and budgeting.   
Candidate must be able to effectively explain complex and technical matters to the general public as well as governing bodies.  Leadership, communication and public speaking skills are necessary, while working with the public, committees, and boards is required.  Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships along with being able to delegate, and manage multiple priorities is expected.
