The Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist position is part of a successful partnership between Pheasants Forever, Inc., Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture.

The selected individual will be part of a team of 23 partnership wildlife biologists working with conservation agencies, private landowners, and the public to enhance wildlife habitat on the landscape.  We are looking for someone with a wetland/wildlife background for this particular position. 

 

The primary duties of the position include:

Working with landowners to deliver conservation programs through federal, state, and local programs
Developing wetland and wildlife habitat management plans on private lands
Providing technical assistance to private landowners regarding the use of prescribed fire
Contract writing and coordination
Conducting and coordinating training sessions for landowners and resource professionals
Meeting with local chapters of Pheasants Forever
Participating in statewide habitat meetings and trainings 

 

The position will be housed out of the Grand Island USDA office.
