Agronomist - Central Platte NRD, Grand Island
The Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) seeks an agronomist.This is a three-year grant funded position.
Duties include working with USDA’s Adaptive Cropping Systems Lab (ACSL) and University of Nebraska-Lincoln scientists in assisting with crop and soil models. Must be capable of establishing relationships with growers and gather multi-year field data associated with local crop production. Data will be integrated to evaluate ACSL crop models. Work with growers utilizing the model to assist in best management practices associated with nitrogen and water use. Work with growers that have consistent high residual nitrogen and report to CPNRD Management and Directors. Competitive salary and benefits available.
