CPNRD to Take Action on Cease & Desist Hearings
(GRAND ISLAND, NE) – The Central Platte Natural Resources District’s board will take action on public hearings held in February for landowners out of compliance with the Groundwater Quality Management Program at their monthly meeting on February 23, 2017. The meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the NRD’s office located at 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island, NE.
OTHER ACTION/AGENDA ITEMS
-Irrigation Violations Luke Zakrzewski, GIS image analyst, will report on irrigation violations that took place in 2016.
-Variance Request The board will consider a variance request from Platte County.
-Programs Budget The Programs Committee will consider budgets for the NRD’s cost share programs and the information/education programs.
-Flood Control Project Jesse Mintken, assistant manager, will have a progress report on the Upper Prairie/Silver/Moores Flood Control Project construction.
-Cooperative Hydrology Study Duane Woodward, hydrologist, will have an update on the Cooperative Hydrology Study.
-Nebraska Natural Resources Commission Mick Reynolds, Middle Platte Basin representative, will report.
-Nebraska Association of Resources Districts (NARD) Jim Bendfeldt will report on the NARD Legislative Conference held in Lincoln.
-Cost Share The board will consider applications through the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation and CPNRD cost share programs.
