Intern Program
Most Natural Resources Districts offer paid internship opportunities that may lead to a full-time position. Interns are introduced to a professional work environment to explore career options.
Traditionally, interns are college students who have an interest in natural resources management and/or agriculture. Students are provided the opportunity to apply their academic studies to on-the-job experience. Work is mostly, but not exclusively, outdoors.
Job duties may include:
- Collecting groundwater quality samples
- Assisting with invasive plant control efforts
- Coordinating GPS data collection and land survey
- Monitoring wildlife habitat
- Testing Irrigation system efficiency
- Sorting, packaging and planting tree seedlings
- Assisting with educational activities
- Assisting NRD staff with clerical work and documentation
