Executive Director - Nebraska Association of Resources Districts, Lincoln
The Nebraska Association of Resources Districts (NARD) based in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks a business professional for the position of Executive Director. The Nebraska Association of Resources Districts is the trade association for Nebraska's 23 Natural Resources Districts (NRDs). NARD has five full-time employees and is governed by a 23-member board made up of elected directors from individual NRDs.
Description
The Executive Director shall be the chief administrative officer of the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts, NARD Foundation and the NARD Intergovernmental Risk Pool. The Executive Director shall administer the business affairs of the three entities and carry out the policies and directions of the Board of Directors. The Executive Director shall report to the NARD Board of Directors by working directly with the NARD President and Executive Committee.
The Executive Director shall serve as the fiduciary for sound fiscal management of the three NARD entities and work with other associations, agencies, and individuals to promote natural resources protection and management programs, develop coalitions on issues, and/or to develop workable and reasonable solutions to natural resources issues of concern.
Job Highlights
- Work with the Board, Legislative Committee Chairman and NRD Managers to coordinate and implement the NARD state and federal legislative policies.
- Work with NARD staff and Advisory Committees to plan and coordinate conferences and annual meetings.
- Work with the Executive Committee to make recommendations to the NARD Board to maintain and improve a financially a sound retirement and benefits program for NRD employees.
- Work with the NARD Foundation President, Executive Committee, Board, Managers and NARD staff to maintain and improve the goals and objectives of the NARD Foundation to promote and enhance natural resources education opportunities in Nebraska.
- Maintain properties and buildings owned by the NARD Foundation.
- Work with the NARD Risk Pool President, Executive Committee, Board, Managers and NARD staff to manage, direct, and guide the NARD Intergovernmental Risk Pool, a state licensed health insurance company, to maintain and improve the goals and objectives of the company.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in business, budgeting, strategic and financial management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in human resource management and managing employees.
- Ability to maintain compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Experience with coordination of conferences.
- Experience in record keeping, developing and maintaining minutes for committee and board meetings.
- Experience in working collaboratively with government and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in property management and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Integrity and honesty are the highest priority of the Executive Director.
