Lower Platte South NRD to Open MoPac East Trail Extension

LINCOLN, Nebraska — The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) invites the public to celebrate the opening of the MoPac East Trail Extension at noon on November 6, 2026, at the Wabash trailhead, 1/8 mile south of Alvo Road and 322nd Street in Wabash, Nebraska. The new trail segment extends 2.25 miles east from Wabash to 346th Street and Alvo Road, expanding opportunities for walking, bicycling, and outdoor recreation along the MoPac East Trail.

The opening ceremony will feature remarks from Lower Platte South NRD General Manager David Potter; State Senator Robert Clements; Lower Platte South NRD Board Chair Robert Andersen; MoPac Alliance member Marie Gregoire. Guests are invited to join a trail ride or walk following the opening ceremony.
