Nebraska MEDS
Don't flush leftover medications. They can harm the environment!

If kept in the medicine cabinet, unused or expired medications can fall into the wrong hands and lead to accidental poisoning or illegal use. But you shouldn’t just toss or flush them. Properly dispose of them by returning them to a participating pharmacy. Find a pharmacy near you here!  Or call 1-800-222-1222.

Help us in creating better water quality for all Nebraskans here.

While all NRDs share these responsibilities, each district sets its own priorities and develops its own programs to best serve local needs.

Districts often team with other agencies to carry out projects. Technical services and administration for many NRD programs are provided by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. State funding for flood control and soil and water conservation projects is administered through the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources.

Local partners often include cities, counties and extension offices. For more on specific NRD program areas, explore other pages in section.
