New Recreation Area Welcomes Visitors

New Recreation Area Welcomes Visitors

Watch Now

The Nemaha NRD is celebrating the opening of the Duck Creek Recreation area.

It's six miles north of Auburn (just over an hour away from Lincoln). The recreation area was primarily built for flood prevention, but the NRD was able to turn it into a beautiful site for the public to enjoy as well. The first day the area opened was on April 16th. The grand opening ceremony is June 2.

Here's a list of amenities: camping, drinking water, electrical hookups, fishing, handicap facilities, hiking trails, no-wake boating, parking, picnic shelters, a playground, restrooms, RV camping, swimming, tent camping and wildlife viewing.

On June 2, there will be a grand opening and dedication ceremony at Duck Creek. You will need a permit to get into the area. It costs $5 a day or $15 for the entire year.
