Windbreak Workshop Hosted by NE Forest Service at Upper Big Blue NRD

The Upper Big Blue NRD and the Nebraska Forest Service will be hosting a free Windbreak Workshop on March 20, 2015, at the Upper Big Blue NRD Office in York from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon. The York office is located at 105 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Workshop speakers and topics include:
Windbreak Renovations - Steve Karloff, Nebraska Forest Service, District Forester
Planting New Windbreaks - Jay Seaton, Lower Platte South NRD Forester

Current Tree Health Issues - Jennifer Morris, Nebraska Forest Service, Forest Health Specialist
Upper Big Blue Planting Program - Ken Feather, Forestry & Parks Department Manager
Bag Trees for Windbreaks - Todd Faller, Owner, Faller Landscape

The public is encouraged to attend this no-cost event with plenty of useful information regarding tree windbreaks and forestry issues. Refreshments will be served. Please make your reservations by calling Patty at the Upper Big Blue NRD office at (402) 362-6601.

The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District (NRD) protects lives, property and the future of this area through a wide-range of stewardship, management and education programs-from flood control to groundwater quality and quantity monitoring, from irrigation management to outdoor recreation and more. Activities and projects of the Upper Big Blue NRD are reviewed and approved by a locally elected board of directors. The Upper Big Blue NRD is one of 23 Natural Resources Districts across the state.
