Brooks to Retire from Tri-Basin NRD
Charles Brooks, Tri-Basin Natural Resources District’s (NRD) Land Resources Manager, will retire March 16, 2018. Brooks started working for Tri-Basin NRD on May 18, 1998, also serving as the Phelps County Weed Superintendent in conjunction with his position at the district. During his 20 years at Tri-Basin NRD, Brooks played a key role in planting thousands of conservation trees in windbreaks on farm ground and residential sites across the district. In recognition of his work as Phelps County Weed Superintendent, Brooks recently received a Presidential Award at the 71st Annual Nebraska Weed Control Conference in Norfolk, NE.
An open house reception will be held in Brooks’ honor on Friday, March 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tri-Basin NRD office, 1723 Burlington Street, in Holdrege.
