The North Platte Natural Resources District will be hosting a buffalograss workshop on Wednesday, May 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the NRD building just south of the airport in Scottsbluff. The workshop is being held in cooperation with the Panhandle Research and Extension Center and is free and open to the public.

The workshop will provide information and tips on preperation for seeding, seeding methods, varieties of seed, getting the buffalograss established, and maintainence. NRD staff will then do a live planting demonstration on-sight. Extension Educator Jim Schild and NRD Resources Specialist Roy Lyles will be on hand to answer any questions.
The workshop will be held outside, so participants are reminded to dress accordingly. Handout literature and brochures will be provided at the workshop.

The North Platte NRD also provides cost-share for landowners wanting to replace their conventional lawns with buffalograss. The cost-share will reimburse applicants up to $15 per pound for Bowie Brand or Cody Brand seed coverted up to 15,000 square feet. The deadline for the cost-share program is June 15.
