Central Platte NRD Board to Consider Draft 2026 Budget

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska – The Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) Board of Directors will review and consider approval of the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Budget of Expenditures at their upcoming board meeting on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The Budget Committee will review the proposed budget and present their recommendation to the Board. The draft budget will be presented at a public hearing on July 24, 2025, immediately prior to the regular July board meeting. The property tax levy for FY 2025/2026 will be set during the August board meeting.

The June board meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Platte NRD office, located at 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island.

AGENDA/ACTION ITEMS

Building Committee 
The Building Committee will review the progress of the NRD’s new office and education center construction. The Committee will also review and consider a recommendation from i.e. design-Interior Environment, of Lincoln, for interior furniture for the new facility.

Manager’s Report  
Lyndon Vogt, General Manager, will report.

Tree Report  Kelly Cole, Administrative Assistant, will report on the number of trees sold through the NRD Conservation Tree Program and the miles of fabric weed barrier sold in 2026.

Staff Reports 
Tricia Dudley, Water Quality Specialist; Brandi Flyr, Hydrologist; and Brody Vorderstrasse, Communications Assistant, will present an overview of their roles and responsibilities to the Board.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Report  
Kaitlin Stouffer, Resource Conservationist, Central City Field Office, will report. Joe Krolikowski, District Conservationist, will provide a written report.

Nebraska Association of Resources District  
Deb VanMatre, CPNRD Representative, will report.

Nebraska Natural Resources Commission  
Doug Reeves, Middle Platte Basin Representative, will report.

Financial Report
The June financial report will be considered.

Cost-Share  
Applications for the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation Program and Central Platte NRD cost-share programs will be considered.
