New General Manager Announced at Lower Platte North NRD

(WAHOO) The Lower Platte North Natural Resources District (NRD) has announced Eric Gottschalk as the candidate for General Manager following current General Manager John Miyoshi’s retirement.

 

Gottschalk began his career with the Lower Platte North NRD in April of 2000.  He has had involvement in multiple departments including; Operations & Maintenance, Projects, Information & Education, and Water.  In February of 2015, he began a dual role as the Rural Water Manager/Projects Coordinator.  In this role, Gottschalk manages the rural water systems in Bruno and Colon and collaborates with NRCS to coordinate cost-share and land conservation programs.  Eric Gottschalk brings over 17 years of experience and commitment to natural resources conservation.

 

Gottschalk is a Bellevue University graduate, with a degree in Business Management.  Gottschalk and his wife Susie live in Wahoo.  Their daughter, Anna, is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  Additionally, Gottschalk and his family are small business owners in the Wahoo community, operating Gottschalk’s Athletic, a screen-printing apparel business for over 21 years.

 

John Miyoshi announced his retirement in 2016 after 33 years with the Lower Platte North NRD. The LPNNRD Board of Directors began the process to select a candidate for General Manager in May.  A selection committee reviewed applicants and made a recommendation to the full board during the Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 26th.  During the meeting, a unanimous vote approved the recommendation for Eric Gottschalk as the candidate for General Manager.  The recommendation will be taken to the next LPNNRD Board of Directors’ Meeting to ratify the motion and confirm the selection.

 

The Lower Platte North NRD Board of Directors’ next meeting will be on July 10th at 6:00 pm at the LPNNRD Office at 511 Commercial Park Road in Wahoo, Nebraska.  The public is welcome to attend.
