The third biennial Great Plains Fire Summit/Patch Burn Grazing Conference will be Aug. 23-25, 2022, in North Platte, Nebraska.The conference will start on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 1 PM and conclude Thursday, Aug. 25, after the tour.

Registration: Registration is now live, and you can get your tickets by following the link below on Eventbrite. When signing up, you have the option of choosing a 3 day pass or you are able to sign up for 1 or more days individually. Please note that even if you choose a 3 day pass or individual tour day pass be sure to add a tour ticket to your cart so we can get an accurate head count for those planning to travel with us. If you are a sponsor and have complementary tickets, I will be reaching out to you on how to sign up individuals. If you plan to bring more people than your complementary tickets please register through Eventbrite if possible. Call for Poster Session: Do you have research or a project going on and would like to share it with our conference attendees via poster? Please follow the link below and fill out the information so we can be sure to include you. Deadline is August 1st. The poster session will be at the Tuesday night prescribed fire banquet with additional opportunities to show throughout event.

Equipment Demo Day: On Wednesday evening we will be gathering at the D&N event center for a prescribed fire celebration with food, drinks, and possibly some entertainment and are asking and inviting manufacturers, individuals, and organizations, etc. to show off your fire or tree clearing equipment for inspiration or to help clear out some budgets in the future. If you are a manufacturer or plan to bring more than 2 pieces of equipment, please contact Brian Teeter at bteeter [at] pheasantsforever.org for details. If you are bringing your homemade pumpers or burn trailers we will have more details at the beginning of the conference on setting up.

Loess Canyons BUL Tour: Have you seen or heard about all the great fire being returned to the Loess Canyons Biologically Unique Landscape in Nebraska and thought to yourself it would be really cool to take a tour of the area? Join local landowners, researchers, and biologists leading the charge in the area to find out how they are reversing cedar encroachment to bring back our grasslands and creating a culture of prescribed fire in the area? Now is your chance, be sure to stick around on the final day for this great tour.

Photo/Art Contest: New this year, we will be having a photo and art contest for all you artists out there. See details on the attached flyers. Additionally, if you don’t want to enter the contest but would like to donate a photo or art piece for our fundraiser please bring to conference with you. All money raised goes back to helping put on these conferences in Nebraska and the Great Plains. Deadline is August 1st.

Prescribed Fire Banquet/Fundraiser Donations: Do you or your organization wish to donate items for prizes for our banquet/fundraiser? Gift cards, merchandise, magazine subscriptions, etc. Contact Brian Teeter at bteeter [at] pheasantsforever.org to work on details of getting items if you will not be able to attend or bring them to conference. 

Hotel: Hotel accommodations with group discount will be at Ramada by Wyndham in North Platte. Other hotels, Airbnb’s, or camping options are available in the area as well.
