Central Platte NRD Irrigation Transfer Requests Accepted Starting September 1st

09/01/2022

Grand Island, Nebraska – The Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) will start taking applications to transfer irrigated acres for the 2023 growing season on September 1, 2022. The application period will end on March 1, 2023.

Luke Zakrzewski, GIS Image Analyst, said if you are planning to irrigate acres that are not certified with Central Platte NRD, you must offset the new acres by applying for and completing a transfer request prior to the new acres being irrigated. Producers who fail to obtain an approved transfer from the Central Platte NRD are subject to penalties.

Also, those planning to purchase new land are encouraged to check the certified irrigated acres of the property before making any buying decisions. The Central Platte NRD has an interactive map to check certified irrigated acres within the NRD at: cpnrd.gisworkshop.com.

To learn more about the transfer process contact Luke Zakrzewski at (308) 385-6282 or luke [at] cpnrd.org. The transfer application is available for download at www.cpnrd.org/forms/permits.
