LINCOLN, Nebraska – Sections of the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District’s (LPSNRD) MoPac East Trail will be closed beginning November 1 for culvert replacement and bank stabilization projects. Closed portions include 250th Street to 262nd Street and Havelock Avenue to 310th Street. These sections will remain closed until the project is complete. Closed portions will be marked by barricades.

Once MoPac East Trail’s projects are finished, LPSNRD’s portion of the Homestead Trail will close for bank stabilization projects. Closure of Homestead Trail will be from Martell Road to Stagecoach Road. Barricades will be placed on the trail to mark the closure.

Completion for work on both trails is expected in the spring of 2024 depending on weather conditions. Updates on these projects will be posted on LPSNRD’s social media accounts.
