Lower Platte North Natural Resources District Director Accomplishes Great Things Through 25 Years of Service

12/21/2015

The Lower Platte North Natural Resources District honors Clint Johannes for 25 years of dedicated service and leadership to the Lower Platte North NRD Board of Directors.  Representing District 4 since 1991, Clint has the third longest tenure of any active board member and recently announced his retirement from the board effective at the end of this year.

As a Director for LPNNRD, Clint has served in many leadership roles including Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary.  He has also participated in the Water, Personnel, and Executive Committees, and has had involvement with several projects including the Antelope Valley Project (Lincoln), Lake Wanahoo/Sand Creek Environmental Restoration Project (Saunders Co.), and the Western Sarpy/Clear Creek Project (Saunders/Sarpy Co.)

In addition to the LPNNRD Board of Directors, Clint has also been a member of the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts Board (serving as Chairman), Nebraska Natural Resources Commission (serving as Chairman), and was a Nebraska representative on the National Association of Conservation Districts Board.  Clint was also appointed by the Governor to serve on the original Nebraska Water Policy Task Force, which worked to assist the passing of LB 962 that is the foundation of our modern state water laws.  Clint also chaired the State Water Funding Task Force, which culminated with the passage of LB 1098.

Clint was a district field engineer for the Nebraska Public Power District for 36 years.  He left NPPD to join Nebraska Generation & Transmission.  In 2005, Clint formed his own consulting company, Johannes & Associates.  Clint and his wife Shirley currently live near Richland, Nebraska.

The LPNNRD recognizes not only 25 years of commitment, but also the immense impact that Clint Johannes has had on local, state, and national levels while serving as a LPNNRD Director.
