SIDNEY, Nebraska – The South Platte Natural Resources District (NRD) has appointed Kerry Ferguson to fill the Subdistrict 1 vacancy, which encompasses western portions of Kimball County. Ferguson officially took the Oath of Office and joined in the evening’s discussions at the most recent board meeting.

Ferguson is Director of Community Relations & Foundation at Kimball Health Services and also serves as President/Farm Manager for Ferguson & Son, Inc. A lifelong resident of western Kimball County, he grew up on his family farm west of Kimball, where he continues to be active in farming. Public service has long been a part of his family—his father served on the South Platte NRD Board for 16 years, and Ferguson himself was the District’s Information and Education Coordinator from 1997 to 2006.

“I look forward to contributing my perspective to policy decisions that shape natural resources management in our region,” Ferguson said.
