Central Platte Natural Resources District Hosts Information Meeting for Landowners

CPNRD Winter Information Meeting for Landowners

(GRAND ISLAND, NE)  The Central Platte Natural Resources District will be hosting a Winter Information Meeting to provide updates and information about the NRD’s new programs within the District.  Jessie Winter, Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, will present the NDNR’s INSIGHT website; and James Huntwork, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will present new cost share programs available to landowners.  The meeting will take place from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, 1400 E. 34th St in Kearney, NE. 

Continuing Education Credits (4 credits) have been applied for through the NHHS for professional Water Well Contractors License.  Attendance at this meeting replaces the requirement to take the Nitrogen Management Certification Test for the NRD’s Groundwater Quality Management Program.

-Groundwater Levels Report- Shane Max, resources conservationist

-Groundwater Quantity & Pumping Program- Duane Woodward, engineering hydrologist

-Certified Acre Website- Luke Zakrzewski, GIS image analyst

-Groundwater Quality Changes & Online Crop Reporting Form-Sandy Noecker, data compliance officer

-Project SENSE Results- Dean Krull, UNL demo projects coordinator

-CPNRD’s Social Media- Marcia Lee, information/education specialist

-Groundwater Exchange Program & Legislative Updates- Lyndon Vogt, general manager
